St James’s is London’s most distinctive shopping neighbourhood, full of independent stores, galleries and restaurants and has a penchant for menswear. It really is the best place to treat your Dad to a unique gift. Here we’ve curated a handful of ideas to spoil him in style.

For fashionable Fathers

Take a wander down Regent Street St James’s to pioneering British fashion store Jigsaw St James’s Emporium, where you’ll find the new Campbell Leather Trainer, made from 100% Portuguese leather. A perfect Father’s Day gift, they come in four appealing colourways – navy, chocolate, black and white – with a durable rubber sole and waxed cotton laces. They’re a simple way to add a chic-but-casual element to any outfit – and as versatile for a stroll in St James’s Park as they are for dinner at Wilton’s.

Or thoughtful sons and daughters might prefer to travel to the tropics with nearby Harvie & Hudson’s new Spring/Summer 2019 collection, whose colourful pieces take inspiration from the sunsets abroad: ideal for the fashion-conscious dad.

Another store famed for its bespoke shirts and accessories is Turnbull & Asser on Jermyn Street. Their stylish wallets and billfolds, as well as elegant ties and pocket squares, also make a fine present for your Father on his special day.

For the finishing touch visit gentleman’s outfitter Budd which stocks dresswear and accessories. We especially recommend Budd’s iconic cufflinks, made by British silversmiths and decorated with the same enamel techniques of Fabergé.

For the foodies

Acclaimed chef-restauranteur Anthony Demetre's Wild Honey has just opened on Pall Mall in St James's. What better place to take a foodie dad than this latest arrival in the neighbourhood? With an emphasis on seasonality, the elegant contemporary French lunch and dinner menus include hearty French classics such as Marseillaise Bouillabaisse, offal and lesser-used cuts of meat. There's a strong red wine list too to accompany the robust dishes.

Alternatively, meander along Jermyn Street and visit Rowley’s, one of the neighbourhood’s best-loved dining rooms. We recommend trying their peerless entrecôte steak and crispy skinny fries, washed down with an Old Fashioned. And don’t forget to finish with their sticky toffee pudding. To make your weekend even more splendid, get one of their newly launched club cards and have your meals at a fraction of their cost.

For sharp dads

Perhaps Dad would prefer a truly memorable grooming experience? On the third floor of Fortnum & Mason, the Master Barber offers a haircut, hot towel head massage, beard styling or wet shave. A true one-stop shop for the discerning gentleman, there’s a fully-stocked (and fully complimentary) drinks cabinet in place too, should Dad feel the need for something restorative to accompany his new look.

For artistic types

Is he a fan of film noir or pop art (or better still, both)? In that case, take your Dad to Duke Street St James's for an unmissable new exhibition at the Sims Reed Gallery, which specialises in world-class artists from Picasso to Warhol. Called Showtime! it features contemporary British artist Aaron Kasmin’s vibrant chalk drawings of a bygone America, inspired by its movies and nightlife. Conjuring up the glamour of early to mid-twentieth century, these nostalgic images hark back to the novels of F. Scott Fitzgerald and Raymond Chandler. A one of a kind experience, indeed.
