Follow Mr London on a day exploring St James’s
Mr London (@mrlondon) took to the elegant streets of St James’s this summer, as he mixed hip hangouts with heritage hotspots. Read on to discover his neighbourhood finds.
Franco's
A St James’s institution, Franco’s has brought a true taste of Italy to Jermyn Street since 1945. People-watch from its alfresco seats, chat to the regulars and enjoy a lazy lunch: think antipasto boards, classic pasta dishes, grilled fish and a vast selection of Italian wines. Mr London recommends the pan-fried scallops and lobster linguine with a glass of bubbles.
Emma Willis
Need a cashmere tie or a classy shirt for every occasion? Cross Jermyn Street for a post-lunch purchase or two from Emma Willis. Summer picks include eye-catching swim shorts and Italian linen shirts; or choose from its handmade shirts that are crafted using time-honoured techniques.
Truefitt & Hill
It’s now time for a spot of pampering. Head to Truefitt & Hill’s Barbershop for a fresh cut, shampoo, traditional hot towel wet shave, manicure and facial treatment as part of its Ultimate Grooming Experience. This haven of gents grooming has long been frequented by royalty and it was even bestowed a Royal Warrant by the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
