This March, London’s West End transforms into a celestial playground as Art After Dark returns from the 6th to 8th March 2025. Led by award-winning eco-feminist artist Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian, this free event fuses space science with surrealist art in iconic locations.
What to see and where to go
- St James’s Market Pavilion – Explore a scientific Cabinet of Curiosities, with space-themed, ceramic artworks and workshops by Central Saint Martins.
- Piccadilly Circus – Witness Moon Bounce Soundscape, where recordings from London, including Nelly’s heartbeat, are transmitted 768,800km to the moon and back. Plus, giant inflatable moon rocks will take over the area.
- Leicester Square Gardens – Meet towering, glowing Schrödinger’s Cats sculptures, inspired by quantum physics.
- Throughout the West End, including St James’s Market – Use UNISTELLAR telescopes to stargaze and search for extraterrestrial life with the SETI Institute.
- Piccadilly Lights – Catch an animated space film on the Piccadilly big screen by Nelly, transporting viewers from ocean depths to deep space.
