On 1st July, Whitford Fine Art are hosting a talk on modern artist, Caziel, by his daughter, Clementina Stiegler. This is a rare opportunity to learn about the artist behind the paintings, with Stiegler sharing memories of growing up in an artistic family, and giving personal insights about her father and the paintings exhibited in the show. Gabriel Toso, of Whitford Fine Art, describes Caziel as follows:
“Caziel is a pure artist. Never influenced by the demands of the trade, Caziel has devoted his life to his art constantly exploring and creating. Like so many artists of his generation, Caziel spent most of his life in Paris before moving to Somerset. The French capital and his close friendship with Picasso provided Caziel with the experience and artistic knowledge that would stimulate his production. He was at the right time, in the right place, and with the right people. Yet, because of his disinterest in pursuing commercial success, Caziel never made it to the big stage while alive. Whitford Fine Art 24 years’ collaboration with the Estate has achieved in giving Caziel the place he rightly deserves in the history of European Art.”
The Caziel exhibition will be open to visitors from 17th May – 1st July.
