St James’s London presents an annual calendar of One of a Kind Masterclasses, with an exclusive programme. Guests are given the opportunity to learn a variety of skills and crafts from food and drink experiences to art and textile practices - discover culinary talents, artistic insights and secret design skills in the heart of the West End.
Serena Rowe is delighted to be sharing her abundant knowledge of still life painting, for one evening only, at Pall Mall's Panter & Hall. Guests will enjoy a tasty glass of bubbly and a goody bag on arrival to the gallery.
During the masterclass, Serena will paint a still life whilst giving the guests a technical insight into how to approach a painting.
The artist will demonstrate how colour, composition and draughtsmanship are some of the vital components to a successful still life piece. Serena will also bring in a variety of objects and sketchbooks for you to use and explore how memory, nature and colour can all be resources for creativity.
“A painting must start with a moment of excitement,” says Serena, “and I hope the guests will leave the event feeling inspired to paint and to find beauty in the everyday.”
