It’s Cubitts birthday on Saturday 27th July, so be sure to join their celebration in-store on Jermyn Street.
You’ll be greeted with a complimentary gin and tonic and the chance to order anything with 10% off.
Nestled between iconic British shoemakers Crockett & Jones and Tricker’s, Cubitts was St James’s first spectacle maker when it opened two years ago, and Cubitts’ first Atelier, offering a collection of made-to-measure frames, was exclusive to the Jermyn Street store.
The design of 68 Jermyn Street is an homage to traditional British craftsmen and women, with a hand-painted, Boston-gilded façade, bespoke consultation desks, and a traditional curved glass frontage with hardwood joinery and blue glazed tiles, referencing the area’s heritage as the home of gentlemen’s fashion.
Cubitts’ St James’s Collection offers sixteen silhouettes, each a modern interpretation of classic shapes from the past century, with names inspired by St James’s rich history. Each frame is available in one of Cubitts’ 175 acetate colours and patterns, made by hand to fit the wearer like a glove.
Cubitts St James’s is also home to Cubitts’ gold service - offering made-to-measure 18 karat rolled gold spectacles - known as Algha for Cubitts. Customers can choose from 89,000 possible combinations, with the frames made-to-order in the UK’s oldest spectacles factory.
