Even You Song - Friday 29th November, 7pm

London Oriana Choir

'Even You Song' is an immersive work based on Choral Evensong; incorporating interviews with twelve couples from Peterborough about a potential trip to the moon.

Lucy and Bettina interviewed twelve Peterborough couples to find out whether they could make a one-year journey to the moon together, and used these words to create a libretto. Then they invited the award-winning young composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad to set the words to music to the format of Evensong.The work was devised by artists Bettina Furnée and Lucy Sheerman and set to music by Cheryl Frances-Hoad.

The Magic Flute - Saturday 30th November, 7pm

Helen Jane Long - Saturday 14th December, 7.30pm

St James's Church is delighted to welcome back award-winning artist and pianist Helen Jane Long for her 8th annual Christmas show in St James’s. Her music has been streamed over a billion times in the US alone and has a worldwide following. Known for her memorable piano themes and evocative string arrangements, Helen Jane Long has released six Billboard chart topping piano albums. Her latest release is 'Perspective' which is 'gorgeously recorded featuring elements of classical, cinematic soundtrack and pop'

Join the London Oriana Choir for their traditional Christmas celebration, featuring a world premiere from our fourth Five15 composer in residence Anna Disley-Simpson. This concert will be repeated on Saturday 21 December.

Carols for Shoppers - Tuesday 17th December, 5.30pm

RCM Junior Department Chamber Choir, Parry Voices and Brass Dectet with the Vigala Singers

Take a break from your last-minute Christmas shopping and add your voice to the Vigala Singers and musicians from the Royal College of Music Junior Department in this service of popular Christmas carols and readings. The service will include the world premiere of a new carol by young composer Phoebe McFarlane.

Please note that the church will be closed from 2-4.30pm to prepare for the service.
Doors will open to the public at 4.30pm.

Free entry: all welcome. Even if the church gets full, you will be able to enjoy the service in the courtyard.

Carols for Christmas from National Churches Trust - Wednesday 18th December, 6.30pm

A festive evening of music and entertainment with a star-studded line-up including Bill Bryson, Hugh Dennis, Huw Edwards, Michael Palin and Dame Penelope Wilton. Our celebrity guests will be accompanied by music from Joe Stilgoe, a quartet from the English National Opera, flautist Ianina Pietrantonio, and Parkgate House School choir. This event has generously been sponsored by CCLA and will raise funds for our charitable work supporting churches and chapels throughout the UK.
