Since its earliest development, St James’s has been a destination for high-quality food and beverage, seeing the historic rise of the restaurant in London and the pioneering works of César Ritz, to being the origin of British food icons, the scotch egg and the sandwich.
The Crown Estate is continually working to support and enhance the area’s reputation for dining excellence. Since the beginning of their investment programme in 2011, they have welcomed Cafe Murano, Cicchetti, Chop Shop, Villandry and the iconic michelin-starred Chutney Mary. Grand restaurants, Milos at Nº1 Regent Street and Barbecoa on Piccadilly, will also soon join the likes of favourite establishments The Wolseley, Wiltons and The Ritz, as well as London’s oldest cheesemongers Paxton & Whitfield and wine and spirit merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd, both also long-standing royal warrant-holders.
